Okay soooo, my laptop bit the dust while I was playing SWTOR about a week ago.. Everything on that laptop is now gone. I'm talkin about aaaaaaalll the drawings I've done that I never uploaded to DA
My boyfriend bought me a new computer with great graphics and lots of storage and I really like it. But it seriously HATES SWTOR WITH A BURNING PASSION. I just don't know what to do... I had to download the game again, and before I've never had any problems until I got this laptop.. You know when it starts loading everything and it'll let you play characters on beginning planets, after a certain percentage? Well, I did that to pass some time. It didn't really interfere with the loading process, but in-game was horrifying.
Certain objects and body parts were missing, certain colors were replaced with the green missing message or hot pink. There was also the way my companion didn't move the way it should be when attacking an enemy. But I thought, oh that's probably because it's not fully loaded and this is the best you'll get for the time being.
WRONG. SO VERY WRONG.
After it was fully loaded (It took a lot longer than my old laptop) I went to play it... I didn't notice at first that everything was the exact same as when it was still loading, and put my character onto the shuttle to get off Tython and to the Republic Fleet. When I got to Fleet, I was inside the shuttle... Yeah. Never seen that before so I was really confused. I looked around and all I could see was space. Tried opening the door, and got excited because it started loading, but where did I end up? Back in the ship.
After doing that about 5 times and starting to get scared, I went for the Quick Travel button. Oh wait, nope it's greyed out and can't be used. Alright then Fleet Pass, /stuck, running into the walls and wishing for better company than Khyzen Fess, logging out and then in, exiting the game entirely and going back in, RESTARTING MY COMPUTER AND GOING BACK IN. NOTHING.
I sincerely don't know why this happened at all. But to continue, I went into chat and told them about what was happening and they called me a troll... Thankfully two very wonderful people came by after I added them to group, and they saw for them selves that I was indeed stuck. After about 15 minutes of that, I said fuck it and sent in a ticket asking them to help, deleted SWTOR off my computer, and am now in the process of loading it up again. I was curious to see if it would be the same as before, so I went in. To my surprise it was WORSE. My poor Sith Warrior's face was so horrifyingly distorted across the screen, I almost cried. He was just everywhere.
So I'm gonna continue to try and figure out wtf is happening on this laptop.
